A WELL-attended annual dinner and presentation night was held by Bridlington Cricket Club at the Expanse Hotel last Saturday.
The trophies were presented by Richard Wensley who, as managing director of Warrior Sports of Wakefield, was a long-time sponsor of the club before his retirement a couple of years ago.

Paul Atkinson, of the Bridlington Free Press was also a guest of honour and he has done a great job over the years for the club – always making himself available to take club photographs no matter how awkward the timing.

The following awards were made:

1st XI Batting: Stephen Winterbottom

1st XI Bowling: Casey Rudd

2nd XI Batting: Peter Bowtell

2nd XI Bowling: Joe Edmundson

3rd XI Batting: Steve Briggs

3rd XI Bowling: Grant Hutton

Evening XI Batting: Casey Rudd

Evening XI Bowling: Josh Mainprize

The Ron Lakin Trophy for the most improved player went to Tom McMeeken who had a fine all-round season, making his debut in the York Senior League towards the end and taking two wickets in his second over.

There was a special award for third team scorer Glenn Mathews who is having to stand down from this position due to work commitments. He received an engraved pewter tankard.

First team captain Steve Garton presented bouquets to scorers Sue Stockdale and Maureen Cowan, who ran the raffle on the night.

Linda Rudd also received a bouquet for all the hard work she puts in helping to run the junior section.

Richard Mainprize said a few words on behalf of the club and also entertained at short notice with humorous tales and a few jokes

The club thanked all who donated raffle prizes and the managment and staff at the Expanse.
